About GearRaider

The Person Behind This Site

Hi, I’m the creator and sole author of GearRaider.

I started this site because I got tired of wading through content that was either clearly written to sell something, or so vague it was useless. I wanted a place where the recommendations were real — grounded in actual use, honest research, and a genuine opinion about whether something is worth your time and money.

GearRaider is a personal project. Everything you read here is written by me, based on my own research, experience, and perspective. I’m not a corporation or an agency. I’m one person who takes this seriously.

What GearRaider Is About

This is a lifestyle and product recommendation site covering six areas:

Fashion & Style — Everyday basics, wardrobe investments, and honest takes on what’s actually worth buying versus what just looks good in a campaign.

Home & Living — Furniture, organization, kitchen gear, and the small upgrades that make a big difference at home.

Beauty & Nails — From skincare essentials to nail trends that actually work in real life. I cut through the hype to find the products worth adding to your routine.

Wellness & Health — Products, habits, and routines that hold up beyond the trend cycle. I focus on what’s practical, not what’s trendy.

Travel & Outdoors — Destinations worth visiting and the gear that makes getting there better. I write about places I’ve researched deeply, and products I’d actually pack.

Inspiration — Ideas, perspectives, and things worth your attention that don’t fit neatly into a product category.

How I Choose What to Cover

I don’t review everything — just the things I believe are genuinely worth talking about. My process:

  1. Research-first — I dig into real user feedback, long-term ownership reviews, and how products hold up over time — not just at launch.
  2. Honest evaluation — I acknowledge tradeoffs. If something is great but has a real limitation, I’ll say so.
  3. Long-term value — Is it worth the money a year from now? That’s the question I keep coming back to.
  4. No pay-to-play — Brands cannot pay for coverage or positive reviews. Editorial decisions are entirely mine.

How This Site Is Supported

GearRaider is supported through:

  • Display advertising — Ads may appear on this site through third-party ad networks. These are clearly displayed and do not influence editorial content.
  • Affiliate links — Some product links are affiliate links. If you click through and make a purchase, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This never affects which products I recommend.

I believe in being upfront about how the site works. You can read more in my Disclaimer and Privacy Policy.

A Note on Independence

I write what I actually think. The advertising and affiliate relationships that help keep this site running are kept completely separate from editorial decisions. I would — and do — recommend the same things regardless of whether there’s a commercial relationship involved.
