This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, which cookies GearRaider uses, why, and how you can control them. It should be read alongside the Privacy Policy.
What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to recognize your browser, remember preferences, and collect usage data. Cookies do not give a website access to your device files or personal information beyond what is stored in them.
Other similar technologies — such as web beacons, pixel tags, and local storage — work in similar ways and are covered by this policy.
Cookies Used on GearRaider
GearRaider uses four categories of cookies:
1. Essential / Strictly Necessary Cookies

Legal basis: Legitimate interest / necessary for service delivery.
2. Analytics Cookies
These cookies help me understand how visitors use GearRaider — which pages are most popular, how long people stay, and how they arrive at the site. This data is aggregated and anonymized; I cannot identify individual users from it.

3. Advertising Cookies
GearRaider displays advertisements from third-party ad networks, including Google AdSense. These networks use cookies to serve ads that may be relevant to you based on your browsing history on this and other websites. This is known as interest-based or behavioral advertising.
Providers: Google AdSense / DoubleClick

IDE | Google / DoubleClick | Used for targeting and measuring ad effectiveness | 1 year |
DSID | Google / DoubleClick | Used for ad targeting and frequency capping | Session / varies |

__gpi | Google AdSense | Used to track ad interactions and performance | 1 year |
These cookies may collect information about your device, browsing behavior, and interests. This data is used to show you ads that are more relevant to you across websites that use Google advertising services.
To opt out of interest-based advertising:
- Google Ad Settings — manage Google ad personalization
- Network Advertising Initiative (NAI) — opt out of NAI member networks
- YourAdChoices / Digital Advertising Alliance — opt out in the US
- Your Online Choices — opt out in the EU/UK
Opting out of interest-based advertising does not mean you will stop seeing ads — it means the ads you see will not be personalized based on your browsing behavior.
4. Affiliate / Third-Party Referral Cookies
When you click an affiliate link on GearRaider and visit a retailer’s website, that retailer may set cookies to track the referral for commission attribution purposes. These cookies are set and controlled by the third-party retailer, not by GearRaider.
GearRaider has no access to or control over these third-party cookies. They are governed by the retailer’s own cookie and privacy policies.
